It is a project financed by Bernard van Leer Foundation and Strømme Foundation. Its main objective is to contribute with the integral development of the youngest Andean rural children (from 0 to 5 years old), emphasizing the promotion of the "resourcefulness" variables, which are: curiosity, creativity, autonomy, self-esteem, eagerness to achieve goals and perseverance.

The children, who are beneficiaries of the project, live in rural Andean communities of Huancavelica. "Tierra de niñ@s", organization with wide experience in social projects in this area, is in charge of the co-implementation of the project in the area.


I) Nature of the project

"The Resourceful Child" Project is a project of early childhood development for Andean rural children from 0 to 5 years oriented to promote the variables of the "infantile resourcefulness" and improve their level of evolutionary development.

As integral project, it aims to promote a change in the different spheres linked to early childhood development like: promotion of early capacities, health, nutrition, good treatment, protection and security of the child, all these in a participative model that involves family, community, field professionals, consultants, university, public organizations placed in the local area and most important children’s participation in their own self-development.
