The Infantile Resourcefulness in the Andes
A model to promote capacities in children from 0 to 3 years old
This book was elaborated on the basis of the validated experience of “The Resourceful Child” Project that targets rural Andean children younger than 5 years old (from 0 to 5 years old). This project experience has been implemented in Huancavelica, La Libertad and Cajamarca for 3 years with financial support of Bernard van Leer Foundation from Netherlands and Strømme Foundation from Norway.
In this book it is presented the model to promote capacities in children from 0 to 3 years called "Infantile Resourcefulness", which has been developed following the guidelines of the genetic design. This model has the play as privileged strategy, which is the same strategy used by the nature to promote capacities in children from 0 to 3 years old, and others according to their mental processes. Therefore, the model is valid for children of all cultures, although it is particularly pertinent for Peruvian rural Andean children.
